Hello

Hi there, fellow bloggers.

My real name is boring, but here goes; Lesley Abbott. I wanted to do this crafting blog because I do crafts. I have always done crafts for many years, in fact, I was brought up learning crafts from my parents, we used to have family nights where we knit, sew, embroider, french knitting, rag rug making, etc.
My friends have blogs so I thought "if you can't beat them, join them". So, here I am.

I am not good at teaching or showing people how to make stuff, I just love doing it, I just follow patterns. So I am just going to show photos of stuff I have made.
I have been going through past photos of my grown kids, because when they were born I would make their clothes. The first thing I made was a christening gown, and all three of my children shared it. I just changed the coloured ribbon so I would know which baby it was on the photo.

(This is Ryan; first born in the wilderness)

(This is Amy; first girl born in the wilderness)

I have four little darlings altogether. I also used to make my own clothes as a teenager, and now I have a grandchild, my first, a little girl, Lizzie. So I make things for her, which I love doing. I hope when she gets older she will still like me to make her things, but you never know I could have more grandchildren by then, so I will be busy.

("Gammy" made this dress)

I love patchwork and quilting, and I love going to craft fairs. I go to the NEC, and Harrogate so that will be four a year. I love looking at other people's work, especially at quilting shows.
I have some very crafty friends, and one of them also has a blog; My Handcrafted Home. She is very clever.
I love everything crafty and homemade, but to say that all of these crafts and sewing are coming back, I still find it difficult to buy fabric.

So, here you are. I hope my kids don't mind the photo's now they are all grown up.

This is stuff I have made;

("Who you gonna call?")

("Wee Willy Winkie" in his nightgown)

(I made this shirt)

(I made this shirt and trousers)

(I made Amy's skirt)

(I made BOTH outfits)

(I made this dress out of velvet)

(I made this shepherd outfit for Luke (circled))

(Same, but Clarke (also circled))

("GET OVER HERE!!")

("By Toutatis!")

(Christmas stuff I make every year to sell, *wink, wink*)

And that's that. 'Hope you enjoy your time here, as I'll be posting more craft stuff I made. Stay tuned.
